1. Intensity

If you’re looking for a book that doesn't slow down, Intensity is for you. Koontz really dives into the deep end with this killer novel. Coming from an abusive home, Chyna, the book’s main character, goes to stay at her friend’s house. The story quickly descends into a terrifying world when a serial killer comes into the picture and murders everybody but her. Somehow, she got away and now she’s faced with the decision to save another victim while she goes up against a killer who lives for intensity!

2. Phantoms

Two sisters return home to their ski resort town only to find everybody in it dead. This inexplicable occurrence forces the sisters to find out what happened with the help of the police from a neighboring town. Upon finding a victim who wrote the name of an author with his own blood before his death, the characters find themselves on a terrifying hunt for the truth. Koontz’s imagination runs wild in this story that will keep you up at night!

3. Odd Thomas

This book features one of Koontz’s most popular characters which inspired a film and a series of graphic novels. Upon the novel’s great success, five sequels were then written creating an intense series that everybody should read. Thomas can speak to the dead, but with his desire to lead a somewhat normal life, he keeps it a secret. That is until he meets a man fated to perish in a huge catastrophic event. Odd Thomas must now break his own rules in order to possibly stop a disaster from occurring. This nailbiter is sure to have you flipping pages until the book is done!
